Creative Production Assistant

Wavebreak Media is a media production company based in Ballincollig, Cork with locations in Europe and Cape Town. We are looking for a Creative Production Assistant to work alongside our Art Department team. You will be assisting the team in creative research, analysis and administration for the production of photo and video shoots in multiple locations in different countries.

Duties include:

  • To work effectively to ensure all content is thoroughly researched and meets WBM’s production standards.
  • To undertake independent research to a broad or specific brief, using all sources of reference, both internal and external.
  • Reviewing competitor content and writing reports on findings.
  • Analyzing feedback on video and stills and sourcing new props.
  • Sourcing and booking locations.
  • Communicate with agencies for the booking of locations and models.
  • Recce locations in advance of shooting.
  • To be aware of multiple shooting schedules in different countries and time zones.
  • To communicate effectively with different departments of our production team and the Creative Director to ensure that all are kept fully informed of developments and requirements at every stage of production.
  • The position is mainly office based, but the person may be required to assist the Photography Production Team on shoots.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Creative Director / Photography Director /CEO.



  • Experience with working in media production and graphic design.
  • Experience of working with research techniques and sourcing online materials.
  • Proven ability to understand trends and translate that into compelling briefs for teams.
  • A working, demonstrable knowledge of photo, video and design terminology.
  • Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehension of house style to administration.
  • Planning, organising and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to manage working relationships with production team at office base and on location as required.

Minimum of 2 years previous relevant experience (however media graduates seeking an opportunity to enter the industry may be considered).


Degree or Postgraduate Qualification in Media Production, Advertising, Film Production or other relevant qualifications.

You will be responsible for building web application UI’s using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. You will be working closely with the product owner, UX Designer and API team in a collaborative agile environment to add new features using lean and agile principles.


Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Experience developing complex single page application using AngularJS, React or other MVC framework.
UX/UI design experience working with both low & high fidelity wireframes.
Experience developing responsive UI’s.
Exposure to Agile Methodologies (SCRUM/TDD) and a passion for automated unit testing tools.
Knowledge of how to develop maintainable, high-performance JavaScript.
Presence of GitHub, Behance, or similar sites (please supply links to your portfolio if available).
Comfortable working in a team with Agile/Lean principles but you are not slave to them.
Experience working with Node.js and AWS is a plus.

3rd level qualification in a software development based course.
Up to date with modern web practices and emerging technologies.
Excellent oral and written English.

Motion Graphics Artist


An established fast growing digital media production company in Cork, with over 50 employees, is seeking an experienced Motion Graphics Artist. We are looking for an experienced Artist to join our Cork team to expand our Motion Graphic Template portfolio and animation content for the global stock media market. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding Irish company in the field of creative media.

Reporting to the Head of Animation, the successful candidate will be responsible for their own idea generation, design, animation and the creation of final motion graphic products. The candidate should be able to show both understanding and ability in the creation of stunning visual content. Main Duties:

Work with the Animation team to create content for the Stock Media marketplace.
Research, identify trends and new styles that are in high demand.
Design visually stunning motion graphics that stand out and compete on a global marketplace.
Create complex high end control systems to allow the end user to create variations.

Creative and driven artist with a focus in motion graphic / animation.
Excellent communication skills & an ability to communicate visual ideas.
Be comfortable working to tight deadlines.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team in all areas of a project from concept through to final product.
Be able to identify trends and styles to create visuals that will appeal to a large audience.
Minimum of 2 – 3 years experience in a Motion Graphics or Animation position.
Advanced experience with Adobe After Effects.
Experience with After Effects Expressions is considered a plus.
Knowledge of other animation / compositing / 3d animation software is considered a plus.
