Hamburger Day

Hamburger Day celebrates the comfort food that is the classic burger as well as all plant-based patties. It was first observed by the National Hamburger Festival Association (NHFA) in New York City in 1933 and has been held annually since then.

It's unclear who was the inventor of our beloved burgers but the name is derived from the city of Hamburg in Germany. The beef patty we know and love today is said to be based on applications of beef sausage brought to America by German immigrants in the 1800s.

How to Celebrate Hamburger Day

Start Burger Day by having a breakfast burger. Whether you prefer your vegetarian option in a veggie burger, or the variety of meat that can go in the bun to get chicken burgers, beef burgers, or buffalo burgers, a burger meal invites people to enjoy good food together.

Get your favorite Angus beef and shareable fries at a burger festival near you. So many other great treats go with burgers. Treat yourself to a big meal at the diner and add a milkshake and onion rings. Or have a barbecue and add delicious homemade salads. Whichever you choose, you'll always end up with a great feast.
